"It’s high time we need to get the message across that it’s really OK to ask for help and help is available. And helping a person going through a mental health crisis, it is important to look for the feelings of despair and isolation and Mental Health First Aid Bangladesh is the program whose mission is to offer training in how to respond to a person who has experienced those emotions .As a national trainer of mental health Bangladesh, I think it has brought significant changes in the community through the establishment of mental health as an integral part of health. I feel proud to be part of such an important and effective program."

"I had one of the best experiences as MHFA trainer with a group of people of Kurigram district. Lived experiences of these participants helped us getting a closure view of mental health condition of rural community.  We figured that, most of them have had first or second hand experience of critical mental illness like schizophrenia, OCD, panic disorder etc. within their family or relatives but never recognized until they received MHFA training. The various maltreatment they were going through or most of the cases no treatment at all! Just knowing the basic information about mental health, learning about mental illness was so helpful for them! They were totally in darkness and they thought mhfa training brought them light through which they could see and address mental health sufferings of themselves and people around them! They seemed so energized to be back in the community and use ALGEE to make differences in people’s lives."
